Why Study Roots Words?

  • Roots are the building blocks for most words in the English language.

  • Knowing what the roots mean can help you figure out the meaning of words they're in.

  • Learning a few the meaning of just words with the roots can help you unlock the meaning of exponentially more words.

  • For example, you know the words unicycle and unibrow both have the root "uni" and both have to do with one. You know that UNILATERAL has to do with one as well so you can begin to figure out its meaning.
