Reader's Workshop

In seventh grade, students experience reader's workshop. In reader's workshop, students choose their own books from the middle school library. They read the books in class and practice reading strategies including:

predict, connect, evaluate, visualize, question, and clarify.

Minilessons and read alouds emphasize story elements and elements of fiction and nonfiction.

The goal of this unit is to practice the reading strategies which are proven to help students:

1.  understand more

2. remember more

3. ENJOY
